Foyle Vineyard Church is a community of ordinary people following Jesus together, seeing His extraordinary way outworked in our everyday lives. We long to see more people encounter the love and presence of God, as we have, experiencing healing and hope. We’d love you to discover more of the depth of life that Jesus has made available to you.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to belong here.
We are people of different ages, backgrounds, personalities, stories, and experiences – united by a desire to know Jesus and make His love known.
Our hope is simple:
To see the Way of Jesus embodied and extended for the flourishing of the City of Derry and the surrounding region.
Our Story
Bringing Hope to Every Story
Some of the words that have shaped our story most deeply come from Psalm 147:3:
“God is the one who rebuilds … who gathers those scattered … He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds.”
When Ben and Sian-Lee Ewan planted Foyle Vineyard Church in 2014, they sensed God calling them to establish a church community that would help bind up the broken-hearted.
Over the years, that has meant walking alongside people carrying all kinds of wounds and burdens — people hurt by life, by injustice, by addiction, by trauma, by religion, by disappointment, or by broken relationships.
At the heart of our church is the belief that Jesus still brings healing, restoration, freedom, peace, and hope.
Bringing hope to every story means announcing and demonstrating the good news of Jesus in practical and tangible ways — loving those on the margins, serving our communities, and helping people discover possibility, freedom, and belonging.
Another scripture that has deeply shaped us is Isaiah 60:18:
“I will make peace your governor and wellbeing your ruler. No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise”
This vision of restoration, peace, and wellbeing for whole communities continues to shape how we pray, live, and serve in our city and region.
In 2019, we moved into our current space at The Shirt Factory with a growing sense that God was calling us to be deeply rooted in the heart of the community — present among people, serving faithfully, and becoming a visible expression of the love of Jesus.
Since then, we’ve continued learning what it means to live with both deep local presence and a wider vision for what God is doing across the region and beyond.

We Are Rooted
We are a people deeply rooted in God’s presence and authentic community.
We gather to worship, pray, learn from Scripture, and be formed in the way of Jesus together. We believe following Jesus is not just about attending services, but about becoming people shaped by His love, truth, and presence.
We long to be:
- A worshipping community that loves God’s presence
- A place where healing and restoration can happen
- A church where people are welcomed, known, and loved
- A people rooted in our communities and present among our neighbours
We don’t want to simply “parachute in and out” of community life. We want to live faithfully among the people and places God has called us to love and serve.
We Are Reaching
We believe every follower of Jesus is sent into the world to live out His way in everyday life.
Mission isn’t just something we organise – it’s part of who we are.
We want to be people who:
- Carry the hope of Jesus into everyday life
- Serve with humility and compassion
- Love our city well
- Create space for people to explore faith honestly
- Share the good news of Jesus through both words and actions
As a church, this includes serving families, supporting newcomers to Northern Ireland, creating spaces for friendship and belonging, caring for people practically, and partnering with others across our communities.
We Are Reproducing
We believe healthy disciples make disciples.
Our desire is to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus, discover their calling, and live lives empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We want to see:
- People equipped and released into ministry
- New discipling communities formed
- Leaders developed
- Communities of faith established across the region
For us, multiplication isn’t pressure to build something impressive. It’s the natural overflow of healthy discipleship and outward-focused love.
